When the Earthquake Strikes,
Let Knowledge Keep You Steady

What Really is an Earthquake?

Talking in simple terms, an earthquake happens when the ground beneath us shakes because the core energy inside the Earth gets released. There are some earthquakes which evens barely felt, while others can be so strong enough to cause buildings to fall, tremble the floor, and crack roads. This shaking happens because the planet adjusts its pressure deep in the ground like it.

What Really Earthquake

How Do Earthquakes Happen?

The surface of our Earth is made up of large rock pieces known as tectonic plates. The role of these plates is always moving slowly under the ground. Either rubbing, sliding, or pushing past each other. Over time, this friction creates a huge stress and builds a deep pressure that becomes so strong that it suddenly breaks or cracks.

This quick release of friction comes in the form of waves known as seismic waves that flow through the ground, which makes everything shake. Some countries might feel the trembling than others because most of the time earthquakes happen near the edges of these plates. That’s the science behind the earthquake and a natural part of how earthquake reshapes themselves always.
