Long after Inarius and Lilith in secret created Sanctuary with the Nephalem - the cheap Diablo 4 Gold offspring of angel and man, the Council of Archangels came together to decide the world's fate. The vote was cast by Tyrael, who was the vote that decided the fate of humanity, and therefore he will be held responsible for that decision by other members of the Angiris Council, leading to his demise before the events in Diablo 4 all for the good of mankind. His role in the coming game is unclear at present, but there are some likely ways this pivotal figure could be involved in the future of the series.
Diablo 3 is a deep dive into Tyrael's story, when he transforms into the Fallen Star by tearing off his own wings and plummeting into Sanctuary where the descendants of the Nephalem live. By joining forces with a powerful descendant, Tyrael slay the Evil Prime and takes control over his Black Soulstone. If the Archangel of Death, Maltheal, went after the stone, and then began to attack his friends and Tyrael was the one who had his companion sent to Pandemonium to defeat death itself.
Tyrael opts to stay in his mortal form . However, he returns to his angelic family and becomes both his Aspect Justice as well as of Wisdom. Diablo 3 ends with him looking to see if his mortal counterpart, who could be corrupted, will one day become the next threat to Heaven, Hell, and Sanctuary, or even the very existence of life itself. In the end, The Aspect of Justice and Wisdom most likely won't be content while Inarius is a mighty army that marches through Hell in search of his former love, Lilith.
The most recent Diablo 4 cinematic trailer from Blizzard showcases Inarius looking down Lilith as well as armies at both their backs. While this scene lacks Tyrael's direct involvementin the story, his creation of the Horadrim and influence with the various Paladins of Sanctuary means he is surely in the game. Light and dark clash across the field, but the now-mortal Tyrael sits somewhere in between.
It is likely his presence will be experienced through these intermediaries unless events take his hands. Tyrael is still feeling the effects of destroying his Worldstone at the conclusion of Diablo 2. That mystical artifact protected Sanctuary from Heaven and Hell and now serves as the protector of the land in its stead. Tyrael seems unlikely to lead any further charges into Hell or take his fight any further beyond his current position at the Pandemonium Fortress, where Diablo IV Gold he may provide advice similar to Deckard Cain for people who remain and listen.
